Top Ten Things…

As the trees begin to bloom and the air turns warmer, spring at the academy is on many of our minds. It’s a favorite time of year for both students and faculty; a time that we share outside, studying together at picnic tables and eating cookout lunches. There are many things to miss right now, but of course, being at home saves us from some of the less-desirable moments as well.

  1. Chris Robinson
  2. Fan-favorite animals—including One-Eyed Willy, Oscar the puppy, and Haru the pig
  3. The excitement of Thursday Lunches
  4. Pooping in the admissions bathroom
  5. Saying “happy birthday” to tour guides
  6. Commenting in person on Suomi’s freshly shaven head
  7. Observing the workings of faculty society through dining hall table groups
  8. Battle Royale
  9. Getting “rowdy”
  10. Temperance League

TOP 10 THINGS WE DON’T MISS AT GOVS

  1. 90 minute double blocks
  2. The “Govs Curse”
  3. Waiting in line for Thursday lunches
  4. When it rains in the spring and there are all those worms 
  5. Being a tour guide and being told “happy birthday”
  6. Freshman couples
  7. Walking from Parsons to Frost
  8. Being stressed about Battle Royale
  9. When someone finishes the Lucky Charms before you can get a bowl 
  10. All school emails that, once again, someone has lost something important (backpack, phone, AirPods, left hand, driver’s license, etc.)
