Winter Concert 2021
Fully live Winter Concert returns for the first time since 2019.
December 17, 2021
The Academy theater brought back live performances of Governor’s large ensembles for the first time since last March. On December 11, the Bergmann Theater hosted performances of a wide variety of groups from the Academy Jazz Band to a string duet of two sisters, Jessica ‘22 and Jana ‘23 Choe.
More than eighty students participated in the concert either as a performer or a technician. Each large ensemble (in the order of Jazz Band, Academy Singers, The First, and Orchestra) performed three pieces, with at least one being holiday themed. In addition to these large group ensembles, student led-groups A cappella, led by Selina Liu ‘22 and Ericson Kuo ‘22, and two instrumentalist duos presented pieces they worked on outside of classroom settings.
The Winter Concert held a particular significance to Ms. Gabriella Tober as it was her first concert after joining the Academy this academic year as the new Director of Instrumental Music. CLICK HERE to view the digital program of the concert.
